Inspired by Mark Changizi's book Harnessed, which advocates the theory that acoustic phenomena in the physical world underlie the structure of human language, works that use only the sounds of objects that are not voices or electronic sounds. The most commonly used is the rattling sound of metal harnesses.

物理世界の音響現象が人間の言語の構造の下地になっているという学説を唱えるマーク・チャンギージーの著書『Harnessed』(邦題『〈脳と文明〉の暗号: 言語と音楽、驚異の起源』ハヤカワ文庫NF)から着想を得て、声や電子音ではない物体の音ばかりを使用した作品。なかでも多く使用されているのは、金属製の馬具=harnessのガチャガチャという音。
